The True Lesson
Heading out of 2019 and into 2020 nobody could’ve predicted everything that was about to affect billions. Going into a world pandemic unprepared certainly isn’t a good thing. The thing that happened to us was one of the worst things that could’ve happened. I certainly didn’t expect a pandemic in my lifetime. So now that it’s happening, what’s the big lesson to be learned?
Without a doubt Covid-19 is going to crowd history books in the later years. Being a huge set back economically and personally it’s certainly nothing to forget. This enormous happening in history has multiple lessons to be learned to come along with it. This pandemic has brought to the attention of millions, possibly billions, of people the importance of what they do in their everyday lives. What have you missed during this pandemic?
The importance of being around people is certainly one of the biggest things that I have realized I’ve missed. During this pandemic suicide rates are through the roof. The lesson that can come along with this is to make sure that you are there for the ones you care for. Many people have gained social anxiety from quarantine and haven’t even realized it. The idea of seeing a large group of people together is quite frankly a foreign feeling. But things haven’t just changed in our personal life but in the economic health of our country and world.
During this pandemic we’ve seen not only lows in our economy but highs. As local businesses close and people are getting laid off the economy is struggling. Business owners are having to lay employees off to save their own pocket books and their business. Commercial stores are flourishing on the other hand. With all of the panic going around people were stocking up on supplies. With states opening back up now we have to make sure to have patience.
As the pandemic is slowing down states are regaining the ability to slowly open businesses the danger of rising cases are high. Restaurants are opening with limited capacity along with retail. Now that people can start seeing their friends again and going to the places they love to go, hopefully the past issues will start to resolve. As things start to clear up I’m curious for the next stages of life to unfold.
Many things are gonna change permanently from the result of this pandemic. Many jobs are permanently switching some employees to work from home. Who knows what school will turn into. Many employers may not be able to hire for a while and many teens and adults may be at a loss for a job. But as a world we are bigger than a virus. With modern medicine and technology our world will be able to pick itself back up. The amount of pollution in the air is dramatically lower. So what’s the biggest lesson? The biggest lesson is how we can keep our world healthy and learn to adapt to anything.
