Hope for the Future -
My grandmother and I discussed her thoughts on her perspective of life. We discussed protest being efficient for change, the progression and regression of America, times similar to COVID-19, and equality. My grandmother believes peaceful protesting does and can make change, and I agree. When asked about the progression since MLK and the civil rights movement, she says we have progressed by having body cameras and phones has helped us, but we still have experienced regression. She has never experienced a time similar to COVID-19 in the 70 years of her life. My grandmother wants all races to realize that we all are humans and have blood just like everyone else; color does not represent worth. Lastly, she hoped for this generation to be the change for the future. I appreciated the time she took to communicate with me and share her thoughts.
